Decorating the bedroom isn’t complete without a having a nice table lamp to go along with it. Two things to consider when choosing a suitable table lamp for your bedroom are design and quality of lighting. There’s a vast range of lamp designs to choose from to suit any look and feel. If you were to place table lamps into two categories you would put them under either antique style table lamps and modern style table lamps. Let’s now take a look at how you can choose the best table lamps for bedroom decoration.
Geometric Designs - Geometric Tiffany lamps were designed using glass cut into basic shapes such as squares triangles diamonds and rectangles and used only one or two colors.
With their resurgence of popularity it is very difficult to find an authentic Tiffany lamp. Some original Tiffany lamps have commanded prices in the millions of dollars for a single lamp.
For instance as a general rule of thumb it’s better to have bulky lamps in areas that receive high-traffic or have kids and pets running around. This is because the heavier the lamp the less prone it is to topple over and smash into a million pieces.
Flowered Dome Designs - The flowered domes include many different colors in the shade. The domes are rounded draping domes unlike the typical cone shape of a typical shade. Designs include the Dragonfly Daffodil Peony Bamboo Oriental poppy Apple Blossom Poinsettia and so many more.
If you’re going to use your lamp mainly for reading you would want a fairly sheer lampshade that doesn’t trap light. A thin-fabric lampshade should do. As a general rule of thumb for reading and table lamps you will want the lampshade to be just over half the height of the base. If the lamp is going to be set on the floor and let off more light a lampshade that’s only one-fourth the base’s height would be better.
